The Artist (2011)

What a film! A splendid, nostalgic metaphor of the silent Hollywood movies era, with superb story, actors, art directing, photography, music!! A French director made this big achievement, a genious rendition of an all-american theme and I bet my account that no American  could do the same! Despite that, American critics are not blind : please read the enthusiastic review of the best of them, Roger Ebert.

An absolut must-see film, it made my first of the year evening.
